Mawa ferry ghat is located in Sreenagar subdistrict Munshiganj District , Bangladesh . This ferry ghat is open 24 hour because it is probably biggest ferry terminal in Bangladesh. The gigantic Padma Bridge is building near Mawa ferry ghat. One of the important thing is that it is well known for it’s Hilsha Fish. Every year thousands of people’s travel there for eating Hilsha Fish.
Mawa is around 50km away from Dhaka city, so we went there through local bus. It tooks approximately 3 hr including traffic jam. Afterwards we frist of all went Padma Resort which is a small island in Padma River. Padma resort one kind of refreshing place.
The Padma or Podda (Bengali: পদ্মা Pôdda) is a major river in Bangladesh. It is the main distributary of the Ganges, flowing generally southeast for 120 kilometres (75 mi) to its confluence with the Meghna River near the Bay of Bengal.[1] The city of Rajshahi is situated on the banks of the river.However, over 660 square kilometers (256 sq mi) of land, has been lost due to erosion of Padma since 1966.
