S//Y Sorcerer (formerly La Pantera, Ted Irwin) sailing dead down wind using a blooper in 8-18 knots of wind between Puerto Galera and Cape Santiago, Philippines.
Hull speed: 7.31 knots. Average speed for this leg: 6.95 knots
Helmsman's comments: rudder hardly needed, as the spinnaker tries to climb (to windward) the blooper pulls the bow back to line, every surfing opportunity can be maximized, no longer worried about a death roll, top speed not noticeably affected but average speed increased significantly - no more climbing the back of waves
