Six Square Soul (2016)
One of a series of mini documentaries produced in partnership with between Six Square and the Austin History Center. Weaving spoken word, music by local artists, archival video and photographs to tell compelling community stories.
Six Square refers to the six square miles of Austin's black culture district. This area of east Austin was specifically designated as an area for black citizens to live in Austin's 1928 Master Plan, which effectively institutionalized the segregation of the City. With music and music video by Riders Against the Storm, and intro music by Nook aka Nook Turner.
