Hijab clashes has reached West Bengal as two groups of student clashed at a school in Howrah’s Sankrail after one of the students turned up at the school gate demanding that it be allowed entry with ‘namabali’ (saffron scarves) in class. The student had asked to allow saffron scarves in retaliation of against the authorities’ permission to allow hijab for Muslim girls. Police and members of the Rapid Action Force were sent in to help diffuse the situation. Authorities had to cancel exams, including pre-boards, as a result of the altercation, which saw both boys and girls on the two sides come to blows. Watch the video to know more.
