This is actually true most of Redcars buses are fitted with econospeed which was invented back in 2015.
1440 is the only spare Sapphire bus in Teesside & East Cleveland.
Stockton used to have one being NL63 VRF 1512 but that got transferred to Jesmond back in February 2017 with the 5A route reduction.
Now it's just 1440 based at Redcar but normally shared between Whitby and Darlington depots aswell.
At the moment it's based at Redcar and has been since it was bought brand new back in 2010.
This bus was making a Very rare appearance on the Arriva service 81A between Redcar and Guisborough which operates on a Sunday.
This has got to be the worst bus for really bad diffs and weakness of the engine.
Even though this is way more better and reliable than a Streetlite but I thought this was struggling on this route.
