Описание: The traditional carvel-planked 24' Ranger class gaff sloop VOLUNTEER gets pulled out of the shed for the first time and is loaded onto a truck and taken to Sean Langman's Noakes Boatyard in North Sydney. In 3 1/2 weeks on the hard, boatbuilder and sailor Ian Smith with the help of a few friends fits the deadwood under the hull and bolts it on, they fit the lead keel under the deadwood and bolt that on. They also step the mast with standing rigging by Joe Henderson, and fit the rudder, fair the deadwood, prime everything and apply anti-fouling paint. This is a tour-de-force of traditional techniques applied to an iconic Sydney Harbour design by the best shipwrights and riggers in the business. This is Episode 28 in the Carvel Planking series, all on YouTube @SmithysBoatshed Channel. Title track is "Hickory Hollow" by Dan Lebowitz.
