Anrakuji Temple is located in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, about 45 minutes from Kyoto Station by subway and on foot. It is said to have been founded in the Kamakura period by two disciples of Honen—Juren and Anraku—and is well known as the site of the Jōgen Persecution, which was triggered by the tonsure of Princess Matsumushi and Princess Suzumushi.
In autumn, the garden is beautifully colored by brilliant maple leaves.
Enjoy the autumn foliage of Anrakuji in the glorious Kyoto fall.

Notes:
This temple is generally closed to the public and is open only on limited days in spring and autumn.
Because those dates are quite specific, I recommend checking the opening schedule in advance if you plan to visit.
