A tour down memory lane while my custom Pro-Designed pads air out.
William "Wild Bill" Walker was an insanely talented man in the biz. he started in 1986 and focused on skateboarding.. then 2000 rolled around and roller derby hit the scene. Roller Derby pumped more life into Pro-Designed Inc after the stoke of Tony Hawk's 900 was thrown in PD elbow pads settled.
Wild Bill's custom projects have never ceased to amaze me. That reflective material feat really blew me away. Those wrist guards really would have taken off for the street skating community. I will always hold a little of the blame. Roller derby was more like a cult to me. Which didn't occur to me until I left the league.. so many other skater groups I could have met but I was too busy with this crappy team to meet em, haha
My pad collection moved with me to Georgia from Houston. They have been tucked away in a pickle bag. A recent ice storm reminded me just how irreplaceable this collection was and I brought it out of the shed and up to the house for safer keeping.
