J.S.Bach - DER TAG, DER IST SO FREUDENREICH (BWV 605)

Описание: In this video you can hear my rendition of J.S.Bach's “Der Tag, der ist so freudenreich” (BWV 605) played on my Hauptwerk organ. I have chosen to use the sample set of Noordbroek, created by Sonus Paradisi.

The Christmas organ music of Bach's Orgelbüchlein consist of 9 chorale preludes (BWV 603–612).
This chorale prelude on "Der Tag, der ist so freudenreich" is also known as "O hail this brightest day of days" in English. The melody of the hymn is from 1529 and in this setting Bach has written it for a soprano cantus firmus with a lively and rhythmic accompaniment that many scholars feel conveys "Christmas joy". The left hand motif consist of two inner voice which together provide a flow of semiquavers.
