► Pensioners have staged protests outside the BBC, calling the Corporation's decision to scrap free licences for the over-75s 'scandalous'.
The demonstrators held placards saying 'Don't Switch us Off' - 'what do we want?' they shouted - 'television licence back' was the response.
The BBC says if it continued to fund the universal scheme, which covers 3.7 million people, it'd mean the closure of several channels.
