Riverfire 2025 marks a spectacular kickoff to the Brisbane Festival, lighting up the Brisbane River and city skyline with an unforgettable evening of fireworks, aerial displays, art, music, and community celebration.
On Saturday, 6 September, the festivities begin around 4 pm with various riverside activations and live entertainment.   
As the sun begins to set, the skies above Brisbane come alive with thrilling flyovers from the Australian Defence Force — featuring aircraft like C-17 Globemasters, F/A-18 jets, helicopters and more.   
The main fireworks display begins around 7 pm, launching from multiple locations — bridges, barges, rooftops, and the iconic Story Bridge — all synchronised to a carefully curated soundtrack. In 2025, the show is elevated by the addition of heavy-payload pyrotechnic drones, launching nearly 600 effects in stunning aerial formations.
