When we decided to reimagine Whats Up through the vaporwave lens, we wanted to capture that feeling of standing alone at 3am, bathed in the glow of a CRT television, questioning everything about the world around you. We pitched down the vocals to give them that signature ethereal quality, added layers of reverb that stretch into infinity, and let the synths breathe with that unmistakable 80s-tinged melancholy. This version transforms the anthemic cry into something more introspective, more haunting, like a memory of a song you once heard echoing through an empty shopping center.
