Multipitch climbing Cornettes de Bise - Millénium

Описание: Millénium is a fun south facing 10-pitch slab climb on the Cornettes de Bise. It is graded 5b and ascends 200 meters with stunning views of the Alpes

Gear used: 2x 50m half ropes, nuts, slings, alpine extendable draws.

A few pitches have fairly spaced out protection (bolts), but there is the possibility to add your own in the form of nuts/cams or threading a sling though one of the numerous 'lunules' or threads...

It can be sometimes difficult to see where to go, but not impossible. The descent can, for similar reasons, be tricky. Spotting the next relay for rappelling down was often hard and we rappelled past one without spotting it. Keep your eyes peeled, there's a cliff just to the other side!

Great fun climb, taking 4.5 hours to climb and 1.5 hours to rappel down.

The approach took 1.5 hours from the parking on Route de Chevennes out of Chapelle d'Abondance. We took this route through the Chalets Toper as the route over the Col de la Vache was not passable due to the cables being broken over winter.
