যুক্তরাষ্ট্র-ইসরাইল সম্পর্কের শুরু সেখান থেকেই। এরপর দীর্ঘ সত্তর বছর ধরে জাতিসংঘ থেকে শুরু করে পৃথিবীর প্রতিটি প্রান্ত, যেখানেই ইসরায়েলি স্বার্থ সেখানেই আমেরিকা রক্ষাকবচ, ইসরায়েলের দ্ব্যর্থহীন সমর্থক।

সমর্থনের স্বরুপ
দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের পর আমেরিকার কাছ থেকে সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত দেশের তালিকায় ইসরায়েলের নাম সবার উপরে। শুধুমাত্র ২০২০ সালেই ইসরায়েলের সামরিক খাতে আমেরিকার সাহায্য ছিল ৩.৮ বিলিয়ন ডলার। বাংলাদেশি টাকায় যার পরিমাণ ত্রিশ হাজার কোটি টাকার বেশি। শুধু তা-ই নয়, ২০২৮ সাল নাগাদ এ সাহায্যের পরিমাণ দাঁড়াবে ৩৮ বিলিয়ন ডলারে। শান্তিতে (!) নোবেলজয়ী প্রেসিডেন্ট বারাক ওবামা ২০১৬ সালে একটি চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর করে ইসরায়েলের এমন বিশাল সামরিক সাহায্য প্রাপ্তির বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
