This is Laitlum in 2009. We shot this video in April and it was a very windy and dry season. During that time many people do not know about Laitlum and only a few come here.
Many parts of this land in Laitlum are still agricultural land. see, this place where I stand now also has the traced of agricultural activities.

The camera we used at that time was not a costly camera. And we don't even know how to shoot video properly. At that time there is no smart phone to make video.

As soon as we reached Laitlum, thick clouds surrounded the place and it is slightly shine just to visible at moving object
And suddenly clouds began to disappeared. sunshine begins to appear to mountains and valleys

While we were standing on the edge of the hill and looking at the deep valleys below. We saw people carrying loads on their backs and descending down these steep valleys without hesitation to the village called Rasong.

We cannot imagine how the people lived in the village of Rasong. How much suffering they have to commute everyday through ups and downs of these steep valleys for the daily works especially when they are sick.

Then, while we were sitting, we saw one of the residents of Rasong running down these hills to return to his village. We are amazed at the strength of the residents of Rasong

Then down the hill the villagers walk swiftly carrying along heavy loads on their back to return to their village without any hesitation.

Down to the village they walked on foot with the loads on their back. It is very tough for them especially those who are sick.

How difficult it will be for them to climb up this hill every morning to go to the market or to go to work in Smit village or Shillong city.
