Описание: An emerging virus can be newly recognized or a reintroduction of a previous pathogen. In this lecture we consider the general principles of virus - host interactions and how they lead to emergence; the factors that lead to movement of viruses into new species; and specific examples of recently emerged infections including SARS, hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, canine parvovirus, influenza, and the recent SARS-EMC in the Middle East.
