STORYLINE :
South African Defence Minister Nosiviwe Noluthando Mapisa-Nqakula has paid a second visit to former leader Nelson Mandela at the Pretoria hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Mandela is spending an 18th day in hospital after he was admitted for the treatment of a recurring lung infection.
There has been a mass outpouring of support for the elder statesman, with South Africans visiting both the hospital and his Johannesburg residence with cards and flowers, paying tribute to the anti-apartheid icon, and wishing him a speedy recovery.
