update: Boulder tools reached out to me almost instantly after posting this video and making an Instagram post to let me know how to tighten the loose top piece and ask if I have any more questions.
"slide the rubber cover off of the gauge to expose two screws that are on the back of the gauge. use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten them and it should feel better and eliminate the wiggle."
