COVID-19, the coronavirus pandemic, is endangering everyone around the world, including refugees and other people displaced by conflict or persecution.
The LuQuLuQu tribe has started an initiative dubbed, #Masks4Refugees, to engage refugees on making cloth face masks to protect them against the spread of the corona virus.
The cloth masks will help to minimize person-to-person exposure, support the efforts of the Government and will need to be combined with other measures such as regular hand washing and maintaining social distancing.
It is important to keep our most vulnerable communities safe.
In support of this appeal, LuQuLuQu High Level Influencer, Abrantie the Gentleman, a fashion designer from Ghana, recorded a video tutorial on the making of simple facemasks as per the CDC guidelines.
This video will be used by refugee volunteers in sewing the masks.
