Описание: I have been asked many times how to keep these shallow wells from freezing and my answers have always required too much work. This method has been used for years to solve that problem. Basically a 1/16" weep hole needs to be drilled into the water pipe below the regional frost line and the pump handle is left in the "up" position. It requires more pumping to reprime and get water but eliminates the worry of a burst pump or pipe.
