Attorney General Pam Bondi called Rep. Jamie Raskin – a former constitutional law professor and the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee – a “washed up loser lawyer,” as a clash between her and committee Democrats escalated over her approach to their questions.
“Not even a lawyer,” Bondi added of Raskin, a Maryland Democrat.
The jabs came after fellow committee Democrat, New York Rep. Jerry Nadler asked Bondi how many of Jeffrey Epstein co-conspirators were being indicted or investigated.
She did not immediately answer directly, prompting Democrats’ accusations of evading their questions. Raskin jumped in to warn her against filibustering, adding “I told you about that Attorney General before we started.”
“You don’t tell me anything,” Bondi shouted.

The DOJ oversees enforcing federal laws, ensuring public safety against foreign and domestic threats, and upholding the rule of law. The DOJ programs include prosecuting criminal cases, protecting civil rights, combating cyber threats, and strengthening national security. U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, expressed satisfaction with the DOJ’s accomplishments.
“I think the big contrast is, you know, here you got a Justice Department that’s actually focused on getting the bad guys,” Jordan said. “Murders are down, robberies are down, carjackings are down, all because of the Justice Department. And President Trump's Justice Department focused on the things I think the American people expect the FBI and the Department of Justice to focus on, versus what happened in the previous administration.”
The House Judiciary will hear from U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi regarding her leadership of the DOJ. Many senators have expressed intent to question Bondi regarding her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigative files.
Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse wrote a letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi asking 15 questions ahead of her scheduled testimony before the House Judiciary Committee this week.
The push from survivors came as congressional scrutiny intensified over the Department of Justice's (DOJ) handling of millions of pages of Epstein-related records on Tuesday, with Representative Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, mentioning six people whose names were previously redacted.
