Drought In India: The Reality

Описание: More than 25 % of India's population is directly affected by the drought in the country. That's more than 33 crore people, and these are just those who live in all the 256 districts that have declared drought affected by the central government. Meanwhile the Supreme Court is fast losing patience with the centre and the states for what it feels is a very lackadaisical attitude in dealing with the entire situation. So while its question for the centre was isn't it the centre's job to inform states about the crisis the Supreme Court also admonished the Gujarat government for submitting a note instead of an affidavit on the drought situation in the state. So will our government's wake up now and start acting or continue to drag their feet? Senior BJP leader, JN Vyas and President of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, Arjun Modhwadia speak to CNBC-TV18 on the issue.
