Day: 02 baby! Getting by a little more comfortable with being in front of the camera, and judging what bite sized chunks fit into 60 seconds. Today I learned a little more about the libraries and frameworks at my disposal.
Even though this was so simple, future me already thinking about how complex scripting can get. What are best practices going to be, good design patterns. Because my first guess would have been to put the collision script on the player. And I’m sure in some cases, that might be the right approach.
But here, it’s seems making a script focusing on the responsibility of collision, and applying it only to the objects we wanted to react was the right choice.
This is going to take some getting used to not letting responsibilities grow into monsters. I can easily see how not managing these scripts correctly could balloon into some monstrous code.
