Taiwanfest 2015 台灣文化節 (Sep 4-7, 2015)
The Amis Kakeng Musical Group has toured around the world to America, France, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Pacific Islands, and China. They have collaborated with Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and Taipei Philharmonic Choir to transform traditional Amis songs into symphonic music or better known as the "new symphony of aboriginal music" throughout the area. This year at the Telus TaiwanFest 2013, the Amis Kakeng Musical Group collaborates with Ken Hsieh's Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra to perform traditional Taiwanese aboriginal songs. The Ami is the largest of the 13 indigenous groups in Taiwan. The tribe's population is less than 150,000 in the 2000 census.
