Nobody knows what Paul’s thorn in the flesh was exactly but it could have been a number of things such as temptation, evil desires, physical ailments, flaws, malaria, severe headaches, epilepsy, persecution, heretics constantly troubling him, sexual temptation, rejection by those he loved, bouts of depression, suicidal impulses, grief, slander to which he could not reply, a speech impediment…

Do you have a thorn in the flesh?, something immensely painful in your life which will not go away no matter how much you pray? Any of these possibilities could be our thorn in the flesh, how should we handle something of this nature?

Our Thorn in the flesh should:
Drive us to earnest prayer
Lead us to rely on Gods grace
Lead us to trust God in the midst of our weakness
Lead us not to be troubled by our weakness
