The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and APSCA host the Conference on Technical Cooperation & Capacity Building for Border Management and Identity (BMIC) since 2010. The BMIC is the largest gathering in Asia Pacific of government authorities in charge of Immigration, Identity Management and Border Control, and a collaboration space with their counterparts from Civil Registration, Customs, Population Management, Justice, Health, and Public Security as well as with stakeholders from international organizations, subject matter experts and industry partners.
BMIC is a platform to share information on measures to facilitate travel and counter threats related to cross border mobility. The conference features an exhibition of the latest solutions and technologies designed to improve facilitation of cross border movements while strengthening national security, to enable government authorities and international partner organizations to advance the border and identity management agenda of the future.
