After an unexpectedly good start to the weekend the bottom fell out for McLaren in Monaco. An early puncture saw Button retire from the race earning zero points for the team. At the other end of the grid Winslow looked unbeatable before costly mistakes and some surprising tire wear issues lead to a second McLaren car producing zero points.
Mercedes was able to take advantage of the McLaren bobble with Rosberg winning and now taking over the lead in the standings, nearly a full race win ahead of Winslow. McLaren will look to bounce back in Canada, a track that has seen some good pace out of Winslow before.
