We had the honor of bringing Aneka Winstead, the founder and CEO of WATT Business Solutions, to speak with us. Task Force chair Shernay Williams moderated the webinar and the discussion pertained to entrepreneurs and freelancers being aware of how to file and monitor their taxes. Suggestions of what type of systems was recommended, as well as best practices on what and how to count every part of taxes.

Aneka Winstead is the founder and CEO of WATT Business Solutions, where she empowers entrepreneurs to manage their money, master their systems, and move with strategy. With a deep background in tax and accounting including roles at the Maryland State Comptroller’s Office and the Department of Agriculture, Aneka now specializes in helping small business owners, freelancers, and creatives navigate the financial side of entrepreneurship with clarity and confidence.

She’s led tax education workshops for community organizations and business accelerators, and she currently teaches accounting and tax at Morgan State University in Baltimore. Known for breaking down complex tax topics into real talk, Aneka brings both expert insight and practical tools to help media professionals protect their coins and plan like pros.
