This engineering marvel is located in Scotland and looks like a ferris wheel for ships from a distance.
This rotating boat lift is the only one of its kind in the world and allows vessels to be transferred from one canal to another, saving about 3 hours of travel time.
Each gondola carries up to 300 tonnes of water and boats, but because the two gondolas balance each other, little power is required to move them.
the wheel was built in 2002 as part of the Millennium Link project to revive and reconnect historic waterways across central Scotland.
