William F. McMurry is a professional liability attorney practicing in Kentucky. He settled a class action for 243 survivors of priest sexual abuse. He later sued the Vatican, resulting in the first Federal Court ruling holding the Vatican accountable for the failure of Bishops to report childhood sexual abuse to authorities. He worked with Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center in a lawsuit against the Imperial Klans of America. Mr. McMurry has devoted his life to helping victims of medical and legal malpractice, as well as victims of childhood abuse.
This interview took place on May 18, 2015 as part of the Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame Oral History Project and Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History and University of Kentucky Libraries.
