Easier Salisbury steak in the crock pot. Salisbury steak is an all all-time favorite southern dish that I grew up eating. Nothing could get easier than cooking this flavorful dish in the crock pot.
Shopping List:
1 lb. ground chuck beef
2 tbsp. Lipton soup mix
1/4 cup plain or Italian bread crumbs
1 cup all purpose flour
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 cup onions, sliced
1 10.5 oz. can of cream of mushroom soup
1 egg
1 small packet of brown gravy mix
1 3/4 cup beef stock or broth
Dash Worcestershire
Dash ketchup
Directions:
Add the ground beef, Lipton soup mix and breadcrumbs to a bowl and mix gently until well combined. Don't overwork the beef of it will cook up tough.
Form the beef into 4 equal sized patties.
Heat a skillet over medium high heat then add the oil. Sear both sides of the patties, seasoning with salt and pepper. Removed when seared, not fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, brown and soften the onions then remove and set aside.
In a bowl, add the mushroom soup, egg, brown gravy mix, beef stock, Worcestershire, ketchup and residual flour. Mix until smooth.
Place seared patties in the crock pot on a single layer and cover with the sauce, gravy mixture and onions.
Cover and cook on low 4-5 hours or until the meat is at least 160'ish degrees.
Serve and enjoy!
