Perkins Engines launch 13 litre 2600 Series Engine Platform for Construction & off-road applications

Описание: Perkins Engines recently launched its new 2600 series engine platform, and product expert Allen Chen was on hand to walk Peter Haddock around the engine, also known as the 2606, at its press event.

Allen: "The 2600 series platform is designed to support the way in which OEMs are looking to bring new products into the market. 

"It's an exciting new platform that will offer eight power ratings from 340 to 515 kW. And we are already looking forward to working with OEM engineering teams to help them develop more sustainable and integrated solutions across all off-highway applications." 

Key features and information includes: 
13 Litre engine platform designed to achieve best-in-class power density, torque and fuel efficiency for heavy duty off-highway applications. 

Eight power ratings from 340 to 515 kW offering up to 3,200 Nm of peak torque.

Available for early OEM pilot projects in 2025. 

Production is scheduled to begin in 2026, when it will be fully configurable and compliant with emissions standards across the globe.

Compatible with renewable liquid fuels such as HVO, B100 distilled Biodiesel, and up to B100 fatty acid methyl ester (FAME).
20,000 hours of testing to date allow for performance up to temperatures as high as 60 °C and as low as - 40 °C

New design features integrate components and reduce joints by 45%, reducing maintenance costs. 

Fuel filter intervals will be as long as 1,000 hours, further reducing operating costs and downtime. 

Allen added: "This engine platform has been six years in the making, and it will be great to see the impact it has on all of the sectors using it in the future. I am particularly excited to see how it will support the greater use of alternative fuels and hybridised solutions.

"Not to mention how OEMs will be able to use the platform with our battery technology to develop integrated powertrains."
