Presenting a SolidWorks 3D model of a pneumatic-based vehicle system, developed as a CAD representation of my senior’s final-year project.
The model demonstrates the integration of pneumatic actuation and mechanical steering within a four-wheel vehicle chassis. It includes key components such as an air tank, solenoid valve, pneumatic cylinder, steering mechanism, and structural frame, all designed and assembled in SolidWorks to reflect real-world functionality.
Working principle:
Compressed air is stored in the air tank
The solenoid valve regulates the flow of
compressed air
Air is supplied to the pneumatic cylinder
The pneumatic cylinder converts air
pressure into linear mechanical motion
This motion is transmitted to the vehicle
mechanism
The steering system enables directional
control of the front wheels
Developing this model enhanced my understanding of pneumatic systems, mechanical component integration, and translating physical concepts into accurate 3D CAD designs using SolidWorks.
