Ralph Ellison, Double Consciousness, and African American Identity Politics." Professor McDaniels discusses Ellison’s Invisible Man and the reception of the book within the context of the 1960’s Black Power Movement in order to explore Ellison’s life and work and the solutions it reveals for the daily struggles with identity, justice, and equality.
