A historic parliament building in Kathmandu was set ablaze on Tuesday, September 9, amid violent anti-government protests in Nepal’s capital which claimed the lives of at least 19 people this week.
The demonstrations erupted in opposition to a proposed ban on social media but continued after the government rolled back its restrictions on Monday and following the resignation of prime minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.
