🎣 BUMPER RAY BONANZA with UNEXPECTED species🎣 Bristol Channel Porthcawl Pier Sea Fishing UK

Описание: Tonights sessions was a nice easy 4 hour bumper fish filled session.

Being on my own it was always going to be hard landing any fish but i always have a little more shockleader on my reel so that its easier and safer to handline the thicker line.
With it being low water there was no water at the bottom of the wall to use a landing net so i had no choice but to handline them in myself.

I was Targeting rays over low water 1 hour down to low and 3 hours of the flood. Being a very small tide i was able to fish my local pier.
The fishing was quiet until dead on low water where i had the dreaded dogfish on a 2 hook loop rig with size 1 hooks.
I managed to find 1 crab in my freezer so that went out dead on low water which didnt take for a smoothound to scream off with it. Shortly into the fight it came off 🤮
From there on i had 3 tiny small eyeds in between 3 bigger small eyeds ranging from 4lb up to 7lb.
Coming into prime time where there was a better depth of water i changed to an up & over rig armed with a big bluey and double sandeel bait which i managed to drop right #outout on the bank 😍 and it didnt take long for a screaming run sadly to see the fish drop the bait straight away. I think that was my missed opportunity for my blonde ray.
2 big fresh baits were cast out half hour before i had to leave straight away big slack line bite which i thought my luck had changed and another blonde ray had taken my bait. Unfortunately it wasn’t my blonde but a nice unexpected bullhuss of around 8lb topped the bumper night off.

All my rigs are 100lb 10x Rovex hook lengths and rig bodies with Inova 3/0 Tamerz on the point and a 4/0 catfish hook on the pennel.
