The Rod of Moses 184: The East And The West
Yahan Marz Ka Sabab Hai Ghulami-o-Taqleed
Wahan Marz Ka Sabab Hai Nizam-e-Jumhoori
Here, the sickness springs from servitude and blind imitation;
There, the sickness springs from the democratic order itself.
Na Mashriq Iss Se Bari Hai, Na Maghrib Iss Se Bari
Jahan Mein Aam Hai Qalb-o-Nazar Ki Ranjoori
Neither East nor West is free from this affliction:
Across the world, the heart and the vision suffer alike.
یہاں مَرض کا سبب ہے غلامی و تقلید
وہاں مَرض کا سبب ہے نظامِ جمہُوری
نہ مشرق اس سے بَری ہے، نہ مغرب اس سے بَری
