After witnessing the closure of Nayeon's arc, I knew I would make an edit of them both. Now that I've gone through all the footage a second time, I've picked up on so many details in their dynamic that I absolutely adore.

First off, they are complete polar opposites.

Nayeon lives in the school's rental appartements, most likely alone. It's easy to infer she's filthy rich—or that her parents prefer her out of the way, maybe both—while Gyeongsu is constantly surrounded by friends even though he is poor. Nayeon has absolutely no one to rely on and she can only blame her personality for it. Her anger hides deep envy for the life he lives and confusion as to why people like him better when she's "the better of the two".

While Gyeongsu actively seeks to help others—even Nayeon of all people—Nayeon focuses solely on her survival which in itself isn't a bad thing. The problem lies in the fact that she becomes frantic, hectic, and her anxiety harms others, both emotionally and physically. She seeks to lay the fear and guilt she feels on someone else in order to get rid of it.

If the story didn't involve a zombie apocalyptic outbreak and instead focused solely on the Hyosan classmates' dynamics, I would've loved to see Nayeon lay down her anger and open to someone who is genuinely nice to her.
Perhaps Gyeongsu is simply a good person, or perhaps a part of him liked Nayeon (maybe even pitied her), but he has never harmed her without her soliciting it first. He has consistently tried to be the better person and apologize when he wasn't in the wrong.

Still, it kills me to thing of the wasted potential of their dynamic—whether it be romantic or not—and Nayeon's spontaneous cruelness make my heart ache.
