In this video, I explain how I prepare my Carpenter ants colonies, which contain fertile egg-laying queens, on hibernation. The Carpenter ants MUST hibernate, and it's recommended you do it between 40F and 55F. The Carpenter ants shown in this video are Camponotous Pennslyvanicus, and Camponotous Americanus, both northeastern species of Carpenter ants that need hibernate.
