Lend us your ears, because on today's episode Lucas shows you all the facets that make up his Minstrel V3 pedal by Kingsley Amplification. Lucas recently purchased this customized version of his favourite all time overdrive pedal from wizard Simon Jarrett, and he couldn't be happier. The Kingsley Minstrel is a pedal Lucas has a long standing relationship with, dating back to 2011, when he aquired V1 (a pedal that still resides on his big board). There are many great overdrive pedals in the world, but the Minstrel has been the beginning and end of Lucas's overdrive quest for all these years due to it's distinctive rich, fat, and natural tube sound. This newer smaller design is still a tube based pedal, but also uses a FET transistor, making it easier to power. With features such as 3 way EQ, a 2 way gain switch, a 3 way sizzle switch, and a "more drive" function, this newer design picks up where the old one left off, for even more tone shaping. As a result Lucas has the Minstrel V3, and custom extension pedal on his small board for fly dates, small stages, and different sound options. In this video Lucas walks through the v3 and extension pedal that Simon generously built for him, and illustrates the touch sensitive nature of this fantastic box with a couple guitars through a 20W 6V6 amp made by Vintage Sound.
