Retro Release: 12 years ago today—on January 10, 2014—Electric Callboy (then known as Eskimo Callboy) released We Are the Mess, their second studio album, produced by Kristian Kohlmannslehner and recorded in autumn 2013 at Kohlekeller Studios (with the album issued via Redfield Records).
A chaotic, party-forward electronicore record that blends heavy breakdowns with danceable synth hooks—hear it on the title’s raucous, anthem-ready “We Are the Mess,” the club-ready, closing-floor “Final Dance,” and the guest-studded, swaggering “Jagger Swagger.”
Commercially the album brought the band wider attention—We Are the Mess reached No. 8 on Germany’s official album chart and charted in Austria—its mix of metalcore aggression and party-EDM elements helped solidify the band’s profile in European alternative scenes and set the stage for later international touring.
