Kasaragod is the 14th northern most district of Kerala and has KL 14 RTO register number which is close to Karnataka. This is known as the Sapta Bhasha Sangama Bhoomi.

Until the 16th century, the city of Kasaragod was known as Kanjirakode in Malayalam.
Kasaragod is located at a distance of 52 km from Mangalore and 90 km from Kannur. Kasaragod district has the largest number of rivers in Kerala - 12 rivers.
The town is located on the banks of the Chandragiri River, which is the longest river in the district. Kasaragod has many forts such as Arikadi Fort, Bekal Fort, Chandragiri Fort and Hosdurg Fort. Bekal Fort is the largest fort in Kerala.
Bekal Fort at Pallikara, located between Kasaragod and Kanhangad, was built in the year 1650 by Shivappa Nayaka of Keladi.
Kasaragod district also has the longest river in Kerala. The Kalnad River is the shortest river, flowing for only 8 km.
Malik Dinar Mosque in Kasaragod is one of the oldest mosques in the Indian subcontinent.
Chandragiri Fort is located on the banks of the river Chandragiri near the town of Kasaragod.
The journey starts from Kasargod ksrtc bus stand and picks up passengers from the private bus stand and goes to Cherkala bus stand and travels through Kanhangad road. The bus fare is Rs 130 for a distance of 98 km.
