15 Easter Eggs In Pixar TURNING RED Breakdown + Pizza Planet Truck Location & Disney References

Описание: So, Pixar Turning Red is here and it did have it’s fair share of easter eggs and I caught the pizza planet truck location too. Stay with me, let’s see how many of these you noticed too and talk about the post credit scene.

This movie is shrouded in early 2000s nostalgia. Besides the One Direction parallel with the boy band, take a look at the nightfall book that Priya is reading - which is a nod to the early 2000s romance twilight.
So, it looks like they weren’t allowed to use the logo, but in the background here is the Toronto Maple Leafs’ own Carlton the bear with a blue jersey and white leaf on it which is supposed to be merchandise of the toronto maple leafs - but I think they could only make it look like it because of copyright reasons I suppose
The director Domee Shi threw in the name of this restaurant as Bao, which is the name of her oscar-winning short film that she made for Pixar back in 2018
Same deal, Domee Shi was a part of Pixar’s other short film Purl and here is purl hanging from Meilin’s shelf
In Meilin’s room, on the shelf you can see a little brown bunny, which I do think is in reference to the burrow bunny from pixar’s short Burrow
As well, later on you can see the hangars from coco in the top left hand corner of the screen
It would be criminal not to mention the clouds from Toy Story making an appearance
This one might be a stretch, but I’m pretty sure that this kid’s shirt is in reference to monsters inc
The luxo ball almost got away from me but here it is in the pool at Tyler’s birthday party
Her mom’s car also has a license plate that says systems on it referring to how her character likes to have systems in place, the order in her household she preferes her own way - she won’t even let characters like Meilin’s father have an opinion as to whether or not Meilin can go to the concert - it’s her way, her system, her order
A sign on the wall says, “Dare to be different, dare to be you” encompassing the whole message of the story not hiding who you truly are - not being afraid to recognize that the thing that sets you apart doesn’t always have to be such a bad thing, so embrace it - Dare to be the red panda
One of my favorite easter eggs in the corner of the science classroom, you can see skeleton of a very familiar snipe that we all know and love from Up - Kevin!
Turning Red is Pixar’s 25th feature film and we know that from the calendar scene, the dad points out that May 25th is the red moon day, I do believe that the 25 is in reference to this movie being Pixar’s 25th film
At 1 hour and 11 minutes, the pizza planet truck location can be seen right here as Meilin makes her way to the concert
The blue jay in front of the skydome is synonymous with the fact that that the skydome is where the toronto blue jays play baseball
