I wanted to talk about my first Chanel Classic flap bag in Jumbo size or Chanel Large Classic flap bag in caviar with gold hardware. It was my dream bag for such a long time and I really wanted to get it. Back then I was much younger and I couldn’t just walk in the store and get it right away without even thinking about it. I didn’t want to buy it on credit card, I don’t believe in buying luxury items on credit, unless you want to use it for points and intend to pay it off within the same month.

In order to afford it, I had to embark on a 5 months no-buy challenge. The rule was I wasn’t able to purchase clothes or make up. I just had to stick with everything that I have. It was such a hard challenge, especially for someone who loves shopping and a pretty clothes. But it made me so much stronger. In the end I was able to save for my dream bag. It felt so great, to walk in the store and buy it. Maybe I should try to embark on this challenge again🤔😀
I tried this challenge earlier this year, but for 3 months. It’s like fasting 😀 you literally have to say no to short gratifications and keep your eyes on target. It was still hard, even though I have done it before 😅
I will post another video next week (hopefully), where I will share more tips about how I save for luxury. I am thinking about starting a tag with this subject. I will tag my favourite fellow YouTubers that have awesome content. What do you think about this? Would you watch such video? I have recently found a receipt from this bag and I am so shocked by how much the price has gone up. It’s unbelievable. It is such a great investment piece and I used it almost everywhere and everyday for 2 years. It still looks pretty new to me. I had some small scuffing on it, which I was able to fix with a leather dye myself 😀

So if you really want to get something, just set a goal, plan your expenses, cut the unnecessary ones and stay focused. Remember, no short gratifications. Just keep your eyes on target and don’t go for an alternatives, just because it’s cheaper and you can get it faster. All it will do is set you back and you will have to start saving from scratch again. In the end you will spend a lot more money.
