Re-opening of Club Culture: When, and maybe a more prompting question, how?
A culture in which dance music is central and dancing to this music is the primary activity, which mainly takes place in clubs. Club culture is not limited to the night, but also leaves room for non-nightly activities related to dance music.
With our eye on restarting club culture, we ask ourselves the following questions: how can we best proceed and what do we need to take into account? What should be our stept of action to make club culture more durable?
A round table conversation with Isis van der Wel and Lieke Knijnenburg in which we focus on the definition of the club culture. We highlight the role of this culture in society and reflect on the interpretation of this role with regard to topics such as inclusivity and diversity. The main question of the talk is: How can club culture offer space to all groups in society? (NL)
