Hello, my name is Michelle Guelff and I am so excited to be applying to the Long Beach State online MBA program. Going into an MBA program or even continuing my schooling past receiving my bachelor's degree, was never something I thought was in the cards for me. However, after being in the professional world for the last 5 plus years, I’ve noticed how many more doors would have opened for me in my career if I had continued my education. So now, being a part of and completing an MBA program is a large piece of my 5-year career goal, as it will give me the tools I need to set myself up for success in the future. Over the next 3 to 5 years I want to absorb as much as I possibly can, not only from involvement and experiences, but mainly from those around me, be it coworkers, managers, and experts in their fields. I also truly enjoy experiencing different industries to get a feel of how different markets work. I worked at a biotechnology company in their marketing department for quite a few years, and previous to that, I was in the entertainment and law industries. Now I am embarking on an adventure into publishing as a Marketing manager and learning how to market in this field. By working in so many industries, it has helped me begin to form my ultimate dream job as well! I would love to eventually become a people manager and hopefully, one day run my own department. Having the skills and ability to not only grow myself but others as well is so important. Unfortunately, this can sometimes become overlooked in a business, so I would love to be that manager that grows not only the commercial side of things but sets my team up for success as well. And receiving my MBA is one step closer to getting there. I truly hope you will consider me for your online MBA program – it would really be an honor to be a part of it.
