Anders Andersen was born in Denmark but has spent the better part of ten years working as a survival instructor and expedition leader in Guyana, South America. Together with indigenous communities, he brings participants on meaningful journeys and educational experiences in one of the best-preserved areas of rainforest left in the world. The work has taken him deep into uncharted territories but has also brought him to the forefront of the changes and impact of urbanisation and rapid advancement happening within these communities.

Anders will take us on a journey into some of the least-visited areas left on the surface of the planet. He will delve into the work behind some of the longest jungle expeditions done in the last ten years, the work among some of the finest indigenous colleagues one could imagine, and how a Dane with next to zero outdoor experience became involved in exploring one of the last frontiers of the earth. It was in no way guaranteed in 2013 that Anders would end up working with expeditions and jungle survival courses in Guyana, but with a very unlikely meeting with a former member of the SAS, life took a turn that was as unexpected as it was fortunate.

Anders will explore the lessons he has learned from rainforest training people in survival, why Guyana is an adventurer's wildest dream, why the natural resource-rich ground in the jungle is a curse, and how the sometimes brutal reality of the jungle can teach us valuable lessons that can change the way we think about ourselves.
