Mack was painted bright red with the number 95 blazoned on the side. He had the honor of transporting Piston Cup Series racing car number 95, Lightning McQueen.

Drop your ideas as to why Pixar used the Mack Superliner to haul Lightning McQueen while all the other trucks were more modern aero-styled trucks. Later on, I will let you know if you were right.

During one dark night, while transporting Lightning McQueen across country for his big Piston Cup run off race in California, Mack falls asleep. When he nods off, he goes off the road and McQueen rolls out the back door. Mack wakes up and keeps on trucking, meanwhile McQueen got left behind. Lightning McQueen then finds his way Radiator Springs in Ornament Valley...

So why would a movie set in the present day, well in the year 2006, use such a classic truck? Well simple. The director, John Lasseter's father drove a Mack Super-Liner when John was a kid. He chose to give the starring truck role to a Mack Super-Liner as a tribute to his dad's truck.

P.S. If you haven't seen the Cars movies from Disney Pixar, I really suggest you rent and watch all three CARS movies.
