Understanding attachment is an important part of effective psychotherapy. John Bolwby, father of Attachment Theory, framed attachment as a biological mechanism for assuring survival. So what happens when this attachment gets challenged or ruptured for children? And how does this influence our development? How might this look later in the adult self or adult relationships?
Dr. Laurence Heller, NARM Founder, and Brad Kammer, NARM Faculty Trainer, reflect on the theme of Attachment, and specifically the fear of attachment loss, and how to conceptualize it using the NARM approach.
The NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), based on the book Healing Developmental Trauma by Drs. Heller & LaPierre, offers a cutting-edge therapeutic model for working with attachment, relational and developmental trauma.
NARM Practitioner Trainings are available for mental health professionals, counselors and those working clinically with complex trauma. New trainings are beginning in both North America, Europe and coming soon to Asia.
