Two sides once at odds with each other are now working together to create a culture of communication and connection. Former Microsoft Italia director and current head of digital transformation for the city of Milan Roberta Cocco details her perspective of how the previously clashing worlds of technology and the public sector can come together to create lasting change. In exploring the complex relationship between connection and disconnection, Roberta Cocco shares her stories and impactful work. Roberta Cocco is Councillor for Digital Transformation and Citizen Services at the Municipality of Milan since September 2016. Here she works at the improvement and simplification of the public services thanks to the technological expertise she gained through years of experience at Microsoft Italy.
She promotes the implementation of the Digital Agenda in over 12 countries in Europe. She also fervently supports projects pushing girls into STEM careers through digital trainings on international level and by offering free digital courses for over 10.000 girls in Milan.
